GIRA FOR NANA IN THE FOREST 
Gira for Nanã Buruquê in the Forest in Redwood Glen at Joaquim Miller Park 


We will be having a Gira led by Ialorixá Mãe Morderecí at Redwood Glen in the Joaquin Miller Park in the hills beyond Oakland.
The Gira will be on Sunday July 28th at 11AM.

This Gira is a celebration in honor of the Orixa Nana - a festival for Mother of Earth, the Mother of Mothers, the Great Mother and Grandmother of the Orixas. The Orixa of the depths of the Earth, the lakes, marsh lands and swamps. St. Anne, the mother of the Mary, is considered an emanation of Nanã Buruquê.

Please bring purple Flowers, lilac, white, blue and yellow flowers. As well as purple colored fruit such as dark grapes and plums.

You may also bring Port Wine or hot Black Coffee (with no sugar) in a Thermos for the Pretos Velhos



***IMPORTANT*** Bring plenty of water to drink

Redwood Glen in the Joaquin Miller Park in the hills beyond Oakland.

Go to the Redwood Glen Trailhead at Joaquin Miller Park and follow trail to the Terreiro. (Follow directions listed above.)


Time and Date of Gira:
Sunday, July 28th at 11AM

Please wear white clothing, men in long pants, women in long skirts. We ask the women to wear white blouses that fully cover the shoulders and chest and to make sure that the clothing is not transparent. We will not be working with the Sacrament.

The Gira is a work of spiritual charity. There is no charge, however, we accept donations if you would like to contribute to our work. The donations that are collected go to the costs associated with the Gira and for the materials, such as candles, etc. We will also have an Ogan (a drummer) it is customary to offer a part of the donations for his services.
